Roadside Bar-B-Q, owned by Richard and Joan Oliveaux, evolved from Richard's mother Helen “Bill” Oliveaux. She was an amazing cook and he absorbed all her culinary knowledge, experience and then some. He continued experimenting with recipes and dishes that soon became known as his specialties. After Joan retired from a governmental job, Richard decided to open roadside Bar-B-Q.
The restaurant's first location was on Hwy 61 new Hemingbough in St. Francisville, but now is located on Hwy 61 at 1014 Colonial Drive in Port Hudson, La. Just look for the giant inflatable pig- we specialize in BBQ, steaks, seafood, and weekly lunch specials; there is something for everyone! You will enjoy the down home comfortable atmosphere of our location decorated with all types of memorabilia. Just ask, and Richard and Joan will gladly share the history of any of them.

We have five large screen t.v.’s, so you will never miss a sporting event, along with free wifi. We also have a large private banquet room for private functions and parties, equipped with a private bar area if you would like to serve beverages.
Roadside Bar-B-Q has been catering to the public for over 16 years with the history and experience of serving some of the finest BBQ and specialty catering in the south. We are very community oriented and love to do our part feeding thousands of responders after hurricane Katrina to black tie, weddings, and other social occasions, along with business and governmental events. We have the capabilities to cater “on site” providing a quality product within your budget.
