Former SU band member forms Human Jukebox Alumni Association | Community Spirit

A Southern University alumnus recently formed the Human Jukebox Alumni Association to help support the Jaguars marching band and the community.

Jefferson Reese Jr., a 2003 electrical engineering graduate and former band member, says since its exception five months ago the group has accomplished much.

It has chaperoned the band during Mardi Gras Parades; distributed six scholarships to the summer band and dance camp ; donated three book vouchers to new band members; coordinated an upcoming band alumni fundraiser for the fall; and raised approximately $6,000.

"The accomplishments are just the start of many great initiatives to be executed to strengthen both the SU Band and the community," Reese says.
