Toy drive for Boys and Girls Club underway | Events

Cox Communications Louisiana is sponsoring a toy drive for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.

Residents are asked to drop off an unwrapped toy at any Cox retail outlet in Baton Rouge, Baker, Denham Springs, Gonzales, and Plaquemine. If you can't drop off a toy, you can make a donation online to the Boys and Girls Club at www.begreatbatonrouge.org.

"The toys will be given to the parents who will give them to the kids," says Pat Van Burkleo, president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club. "That way we empower the parents so they can  look good and be heroes to their kids."

The toy drive ends Monday, Dec. 17.

The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge is active in 10 schools in East Baton Rouge Parish. About 1,000 children participate in the organization.
