Southern University students performing with Beyonce | Events
Seaera Cole is living proof that dreams really do come true.
Cole, the captain of the Southern University Dancing Dolls, will be performing with Beyonce during the halftime show at the Superbowl on Sunday in New Orleans. She is among a group of dancers that will accompany the Grammy Award winning star.
“This is the ultimate dream,” Cole tells 9News Neighborhoods. “I’ve always dreamed of being on stage with her and to actually do it is a dream come true. It’s really really really exciting.”
Cole, a 22-year-old senior from New Orleans, danced at last year’s Superbowl with Madonna.
She is in New Orleans getting ready for the big show. They have been rehearsing since last week.
Beyonce has joined them a couple of times.
“She walked through a group of girls I was standing by and she was like ‘hey ladies” and we were all looking like ‘wow it’s really Beyonce, ’” Cole says.
Former Dancing Doll Captain D’Tara Frank who graduated in 2010 is also performing with Beyonce.
"I woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning and looked at my email. I saw 'congratulations' and I hopped out of bed and said 'oh my God,'" said Frank who is now an engineer in Lake Charles. "It was crazy."
The game starts at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 3 on WAFB Channel 9.
