Neighborhood grocery store catches fire | News
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- Fire damaged a neighborhood grocery store in north Baton Rouge early Friday morning.
Winbourne Grocery, which is located on Wibourne Avenue near Yaun Drive, caught fire around 5:45 a.m.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating what caused the fire, but officials said foul play is not suspected.
It took firefighters until 6:45 a.m. to get it under control.
Investigators believe the fire sparked in the back of the building near the walk-in coolers.
They added a small part of a store room and kitchen areas were damaged by the flames.
The store was closed when the fire started.
No injuries were reported.
