Old West End Grocery catches fire | News

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB)- A vacant
store caught fire in Baton Rouge Friday morning.

The fire
sparked at the old West End Grocery, which is located in the 9000 block of Scenic
Highway, a little after 9 a.m.

The Baton
Rouge Fire Department said the fire started in the back of the store and part
of the building was engulfed in flames when firemen drove up.

Investigators
have not determined the cause of the blaze.

Officials
said the building is considered a total loss.

They added
the store had been closed for several years, but it did have electricity at the
time of the fire.
